Tadka Tech is hotel billing software for the kind of “hotel” most of India eats at: the dhaba, the eatery, the family restaurant. It bills a table or a parcel in a few taps, prints the KOT for the kitchen, puts GST on every bill and keeps the udhaar khata. It covers the food side only, with no room or lodging billing.
Billing a table at a busy hotel, in four steps.
The cashier at a hotel counter is taking an order, handing over change and shouting to the kitchen at the same time. The screen has to keep up with that, not the other way round.

Dine-in, parcel or home delivery
Pick the type first. Type a regular's phone number and their name fills itself in; a new number is added to your customer list with the order.
- 2Find the dish
Two or three letters, not the whole name
The first letter of each word works too: “dm” finds Dal Makhani. A dish with half and full plates asks which one before it goes on the bill, each at its own price.
- 3Tell the kitchen
Notes and parcels on the line
Less spicy, no onion or Jain from your own note chips, stuck to the one item they belong to. One tap marks a single dish to be packed.

Now, or after they eat
Pick cash and the screen shows the change to return. With no payment picked, the order still goes to the kitchen and the bill waits for later.

Orders
“Write it in my account, I'll pay on the first.”
TadkaMark Due puts the order on credit against the customer's name and number, with a reason such as monthly account. The Due tab shows the total owed, customer by customer.

TadkaWith waiting for payment confirmation on, the order shows a QR and is marked Paid only when the money has actually arrived, whatever the guest's screenshot says.

TadkaThe KOT prints with the KOT number, the table, the time, the waiter and every item. An orange dot on a table means some of its items haven't been printed on any slip yet.

The short version of the billing counter: three order types, a phone-number lookup, a half plate, a parcel, a free item, a kitchen note, GST and round-off, then cash, card, split and UPI.

Which GST rate applies to your hotel is a question for your accountant. Once it is set on each dish, the bill does the rest the same way every time.
- Each dish carries its own tax category, so a dish at one rate and a packaged item at another show as separate lines on the same bill
- GST is worked out on the amount after any discount, and shown as CGST and SGST
- The round-off is stored on the bill, so the screen, the slip and the report show the same rupee
- Need to show the table the amount first? Print a provisional bill marked UNPAID
- Your GST number, FSSAI number or phone can print in the receipt footer
A KOT the tandoor can actually read.
The kitchen slip carries no prices, because the kitchen doesn't need them. It carries what to cook, for which table, and what changed.
- The chef button next to Place Order creates the order and sends the KOT in the same moment
- An extra roti later prints on its own numbered add-on KOT, not the whole order again
- One printer at a small hotel can take both KOTs and bills; with two, KOTs go to the kitchen and bills stay at the counter
- 80 mm or 58 mm thermal paper, whichever roll you already buy
- A cash drawer cabled to the counter printer opens on a cash payment
The udhaar book, without the book.
Every hotel has customers who pay at the end of the month, and every hotel has a diary where that money slowly gets forgotten. On Tadka Tech the credit is written against a person: Mark Due asks for the phone number and name, and a reason such as monthly account. If a customer pays only part of a bill, the rest is recorded as due by itself.
The Due tab groups everything by customer: how many orders, the total, and how old the oldest one is. When the money comes in, Settle clears that due and the totals go down. Marked due by mistake? Return to Active puts the order back.
Chasing it is one tap. Switch on payment reminders in WhatsApp's Message Settings, and the Remind button sends the customer a polite WhatsApp message with what they owe and a pay link, so nobody has to make the awkward phone call.
What Tadka Tech does not do for a hotel.

- RoomsNo room or lodging billing. If your hotel has rooms, Tadka Tech runs the restaurant side: the counter, the kitchen, the waiters and the food bills. Room bookings and room bills stay in whatever you use today.
- InternetIt needs an internet connection. Billing does not work offline. A mobile hotspot at the counter is enough as a backup.
- MachinesIt is software, not a billing machine. It runs on the laptop, tablet or phone you have. Card payments stay on the machine your bank gave you; the bill just records that it was paid by card.
