Core

The floor, as it actually is.

A table is occupied because an order is open on it — not because somebody remembered to tap a button. Status, covers and elapsed time come off the order rows, so the floor plan and the till can never disagree.

01Floor plan

Twelve tables, one glance.

Each tile carries the table, how many are seated, how long they have been there and what is on the tab. Sections are laid out the way the room is, and the board updates itself as orders move.

02What you can do

Lay out the room, then stop touching it.

You draw the floor once. After that the system keeps it current from what the floor is doing.

Sections and floors

Ground floor, first floor, terrace, bar. Tables are drawn on a grid with their shape and seat count, and locked when you are done.

Status nobody has to toggle

Free, occupied, billed, reserved — derived from the open order and the settled bill, pushed to the board over a WebSocket.

Move and merge

Shift a party to a bigger table, or merge two tables so both orders arrive on one bill.

A QR on every table

Each table gets its own code and its own URL. Print the whole floor as cards, or download one table as a PNG.

Area and time surcharges

A rooftop percentage, a per-guest private-dining charge, a late-night window. Each lands on the bill as its own labelled line.

Occupancy that feeds reports

Covers, turn time and occupancy by hour come out of the same sessions the floor plan is drawing.

03The table

Open a tile, get the table.

Who is on it, since when, which waiter has it, what has been ordered and what each line is doing in the kitchen — plus the running total, before the bill is raised.

  • Covers seated against capacity, and the minutes since the party was seated
  • The open order's lines with their individual kitchen status
  • Running total, so the host can answer "how much are we at" without printing
  • Merge with another table, move the party, or add an item without leaving the table
  • A note that stays on the table — allergy, birthday, regular's preference

04Table QR

Every table has its own address.

The code on T04 points at T04. A diner who scans it gets your menu with the table already attached, so the order they place arrives in the queue on the right table — no code to type, no waiter to flag down.

  • One code per table, generated from the table's own URL on your slug
  • Print the whole floor as cards, or download a single table as a PNG
  • Filter by section when you only need the terrace reprinted
  • The scan opens the same menu the POS uses, including today's out-of-stock items
  • Orders placed from a table QR can be held for approval before the kitchen sees them

06Roles

Drawing the room and running it.

Editing the layout is a rare, deliberate act. Working the floor happens every ten seconds — so they are separate permissions.

  • Owner Owns the room. Creates floors and sections, draws and locks the layout, sets area and time surcharges, and regenerates the table QR codes.
  • Manager Runs the room. Moves and merges tables, waives a surcharge with a reason, prints QR cards and resolves a table left open at close.
  • Supervisor Keeps the floor turning. Seats parties, marks a table for cleaning, and moves an order between tables during service.
  • Host The door. Sees the live floor and tonight's bookings, seats walk-ins against free tables, and assigns a kiosk order that arrived without a table.
  • Waiter Their section. Opens their own tables, adds to the running order and raises the bill — on the waiter app, with the same floor plan.

A role is a named bundle of atomic permissions, not a rank. A staff member can hold several at once and their effective access is the union; the code checks the permission on every endpoint, never the role name.
