Add-ons & surfaces

A counter that takes orders while you cook.

A touchscreen at the counter that guests use themselves — the whole photo menu, add-ons, a running cart and payment. The order goes straight to the kitchen display, and it runs on an ordinary tablet in a stand.

01The touchscreen

Big photos, big buttons, no queue.

Categories down the left, the photo menu in the middle, the cart always visible on the right. Everything is sized for a thumb, not a mouse.

Self-order kiosk · menu and running cart

02What you can do

Six things this surface actually does.

Guests order themselves

A screen at the counter takes the order without anyone behind it. Nobody signs in; the kiosk is bound to the restaurant, not to a staff member.

The whole photo menu

Every category, every dish with its photo and description, a search box and tag filters like meal, creamy or spicy — and veg marks on each item.

Add-ons and portions

Half or full, extra butter, make it spicy, choose the fries size and pick a drink — the same add-on groups the counter and the kitchen already use.

Make it a meal

At checkout the kiosk can offer the meal version of what is already in the cart, and suggest a drink or a dessert alongside it. Both are optional and skippable.

Pay at the counter or scan

Finish at the till with cash or card, or scan the UPI code on screen and have the payment confirmed against the order before it fires.

Straight to the kitchen

The order joins the same queue as the waiter's and the QR diner's, and the ticket appears on the kitchen display over a WebSocket the moment it is accepted.

03Customise and upsell

Ask the question a good counter asks.

The kiosk knows what is in the cart, so it can offer the meal version of it, the drink that goes with it, or an offer the guest is eligible for. Every prompt has a "no thanks" that is as easy to press as the yes.

  • Required choices — size, drink — and optional extras with a maximum
  • A meal upgrade priced as the difference, not as a new item to re-order
  • Cross-sell drawn from the categories you nominate, not a random suggestion
  • Eligible offers shown as large tap tiles, with a keypad for typing a code
  • One offer per order — picking an offer clears a points redemption and vice versa

04Checkout and pay

Ends the way every other order ends.

A kiosk order is an order. It gets a token, a GST bill and a kitchen ticket, and it appears in the day's numbers beside the counter and the QR channel — tagged as kiosk so you can tell them apart.

  • Scan the UPI code on screen, or settle at the till in cash or card
  • A token number on screen and on the ticket, so the counter can call it
  • An optional phone number earns loyalty points and gets a ready alert
  • The same GST bill, with the discount taken off the taxable value first
  • Runs in a browser on an ordinary tablet — no special hardware to buy
06Roles

A surface with no sign-in.

  • Your guestNo account at all. Browses, customises and pays. A phone number is optional and only buys them points and a ready alert.
  • OwnerSwitches it on. Enrols the device, decides whether it takes payment on screen or sends the guest to the till, and sets what the kiosk may discount.
  • ManagerCurates what it shows. Categories and photos, the tag filters, which items carry a meal upgrade and which categories the cross-sell draws from.
  • CashierSettles what it takes. Kiosk orders waiting for counter payment appear in the till queue and are settled onto the same bill.
  • SupervisorWatches the floor. Sees kiosk orders in the live queue, holds or rejects one, and can start the device over if a guest walks away mid-order.
  • KitchenCooks it like any ticket. The kiosk ticket carries its token, its add-ons and its notes onto the same board.

Permissions are atomic and checked on every endpoint — a role is a named bundle of them, not a rank. Staff can hold several bundles at once, and effective access is the union.

See it running on your menu.

We set the restaurant up with you — menu, tables, staff and printers — rather than handing over a login and wishing you luck.
