Swiggy and Zomato orders inside Tadka Tech
0:00Your Zomato and Swiggy orders now show up in Tadka Tech too: on the Orders board, with a KOT. This video does the whole setup from start to finish and shows the effect of every setting on the real screens.
How it works
0:14On the counter PC you already keep the Zomato and Swiggy partner websites open. A small extension, Tadka Order Sync, goes into that same Chrome.
Whatever orders the partner website brings onto its screen, the extension sends a copy to Tadka Tech. In Tadka Tech those orders appear on the Orders board and, if you want, go all the way to the KOT printer.
Three rules: password, accepting, open tab
0:40Three things to be clear about from the start. One: Tadka Tech never sees your Zomato or Swiggy password.
Two: Tadka Tech never clicks anything on the partner website. Accepting, rejecting and marking an order ready are all done by you on Zomato or Swiggy itself.
Three: orders come in only while the partner website's tab is open.
Ask the Tadka Tech team to switch it on
1:04This feature is not switched on for every account automatically. Ask the Tadka Tech team and they will switch it on for your restaurant.
After that, the owner's or manager's Settings show a new tab: Integrations.
Settings, Integrations and the 4 setup steps
1:18Open Settings from the left menu and pick the Integrations tab in the list on the left. Here is the card: Swiggy & Zomato order sync. Its top repeats the rules: never your password, accept on the partner website, and keep the tab open.
Below are the four setup steps: install the extension, get a 6-digit code, enter that code in the extension, and confirm your outlets.
WhereSettings → Integrations → Swiggy & Zomato order sync
Step 1: install the Chrome extension
1:51Press Download & install steps and the install card opens below. Download the extension's zip file from here and unzip it into a folder you won't delete. It runs in Chrome or Edge, on Windows, Mac or Linux. Not on a phone yet.
Now type chrome://extensions in Chrome's address bar and switch Developer mode on at the top right. Three new buttons appear; press Load unpacked and choose that same unzipped folder.
Tadka Order Sync now appears in the list with its switch on. Pin it from the puzzle-piece icon in the toolbar so its icon is always in front of you.
WhereSettings → Integrations → Download & install steps, then chrome://extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked
Step 2: get a 6-digit code
2:41Back in Tadka Tech's Settings, press Connect a PC. Type a name for this PC, like Counter PC, and press Get a code.
Here is the 6-digit code. It works only once and expires in 10 minutes. Your restaurant code is written next to it.
WhereSettings → Integrations → Connect a PC → Get a code
Step 3: connect the extension
3:03Click the Tadka icon in the Chrome toolbar and a small window opens. Leave Environment on Production. In Restaurant code, enter the code Tadka Tech showed you. Then the 6-digit code, this PC's name, and Connect.
As soon as it connects, your restaurant's name appears in the window. Zomato and Swiggy still read Tab not open, because the partner websites haven't been opened yet.
In Tadka Tech, at the same moment, you see that Counter PC is connected. Press Done. The PC now appears in the Connected PCs list below, with when it was connected, when it was last seen, and today's orders.
WhereChrome toolbar → Tadka Order Sync icon → Connect
Open the Zomato and Swiggy partner sites
3:46Now open the Zomato and Swiggy partner websites in the same Chrome and log in as usual. If the tabs were already open, reload them once.
The extension window now shows Tab open next to both. Leave these tabs open all day.
Step 4: confirm your outlets
4:06Now the Orders page. The board has a new lane: Swiggy / Zomato. At the top, both show green: Tab open. But below that is a yellow strip: three outlets are waiting for confirmation, and until then their orders won't show or print. Press Review outlets.
One Zomato or Swiggy login often has more than one outlet. As soon as the partner website opens, all the outlets on your login appear here, marked Waiting for you. Swiggy doesn't send the outlet's name, only its number, so match it with the number on your Swiggy order card.
In this example, the Model Town outlet is this restaurant's: This restaurant, and Yes. The Sector 22 outlet is a different branch: Not this restaurant, so its orders won't come here and won't be saved. Once you mark an outlet This restaurant, no other restaurant on Tadka Tech can claim it.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato lane → Review outlets
Orders arrive on the order board
5:10Back to Orders from the left menu and down to the Swiggy / Zomato lane. The yellow strip is gone and a running Swiggy order is already in the lane. Then a new Zomato order arrives.
The card shows the platform, the order number, a red New badge and the total. Below that: the customer's name, the items, and the payment, such as Paid online.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato lane
Print the KOT
5:31Need a KOT? Press Print KOT on the card. If the Print Agent is set up, it goes straight to the kitchen printer; the video shows a PDF of the same slip.
This order hasn't been accepted on Zomato yet, so the top clearly says Not yet accepted: accept it on Zomato first, then cook. Below: the items, the quantities and the customer's note, here Less spicy.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato order card → Print KOT
Print the order slip
5:56Print receipt gives you the order slip to attach to the packet. It has the items, prices, discount and the bill total.
The top says Order slip, not a tax invoice. Zomato issues the tax invoice, and that is written at the bottom too.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato order card → Print receipt
Accept on Zomato, not in Tadka Tech
6:13The card has a button: Accept on Zomato. It does not accept the order from Tadka Tech. It takes you straight to the Zomato tab open on the same PC, and you accept the order there.
So: you press the button in Tadka Tech and the Zomato tab comes to the front. You press Accept there. The partner website shows the order as accepted, the extension reads that change, and the Tadka Tech card changes too.
The card now says Accepted and the Accept button is gone. As the order's status moves forward on the partner website, it changes here the same way.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato order card → Accept on Zomato
Order details and KOT reprint
6:57For the full detail, click the card and the order's own page opens: every dish with quantity and price; item total, discount and total; the customer's note; and at the bottom a status timeline of what Tadka Tech saw and when.
Print the KOT again from here and it says REPRINT in big letters at the top, so the kitchen doesn't take it for a new order and cook it twice.
WhereOrders → click the Swiggy / Zomato order card
The list of all Swiggy and Zomato orders
7:25The board keeps only running orders. For the full list, go back to the Orders board, down to the lane, and press All. Here are all the day's Swiggy and Zomato orders, delivered ones too. You can filter by platform, status and date.
Keep the note at the top in mind: these orders are not added to your Tadka Tech bills or the kitchen screen.
WhereOrders → Swiggy / Zomato lane → All
Auto-print the KOT when an order is accepted
7:49You don't have to press KOT by hand on every order. In Settings, under Connected PCs, each PC has two switches. Switch Auto-print KOT on. Now every order's KOT on this PC prints by itself through the Tadka Tech Print Agent the moment it's accepted, so the Print Agent must be on that same PC.
Turn the second switch, Learning mode, on only when Tadka Tech support asks you to.
Back on the Orders lane, a new Swiggy order arrives. The staff accept it on Swiggy, and the card shows KOT printing, then KOT printed. Nobody pressed anything in Tadka Tech.
WhereSettings → Integrations → Connected PCs → Auto-print KOT
Alarm when a partner tab is closed
8:30Say someone closes the Zomato tab by mistake. A red banner appears on the Orders page: Zomato orders are not coming in. A bell rings every 10 seconds. The lane shows a red strip too: Zomato tab is closed, new orders aren't reaching Tadka Tech.
The fix is simple. Press Open Zomato portal on the banner and open the Zomato tab again. As soon as the tab is open, the banner goes away and the bell stops by itself.
WhereOrders → red banner → Open Zomato portal
Switch off a platform you do not use
9:06Say you've paused Swiggy for a few days and its tab is closed. Tadka Tech will keep saying Swiggy orders are not coming in, and the bell keeps ringing even though you don't want Swiggy right now.
The fix is in Settings, the Integrations tab, at the very top: Platforms you use. Switch Swiggy off. It saves, and it now says Ignored: no alerts, no orders synced. Zomato is now the last platform on, so its switch is locked: at least one platform must stay on.
Back on Orders, the banner is gone and the bell has stopped. The lane is now called just Zomato, with Swiggy off written beside it. To start Swiggy again, switch it back on. Switching off doesn't delete anything.
WhereSettings → Integrations → Platforms you use
Your daily checklist
9:59Four things to remember every day. Keep Chrome open on the counter PC, with the Zomato and Swiggy tabs logged in. Accept orders on the partner website only. If the red bell rings, open that tab. And if you want KOTs automatically, keep the Print Agent on the same PC and Auto-print KOT switched on.
To get started, ask the Tadka Tech team, then go to Settings, Integrations.
